Well-Connect® is leading the way in geothermal heating and cooling for rural homeowners.

With Well-Connect, homeowners with wells can heat their home for as low as $600 all winter, cool their home for as low as $50 all summer and finance for as low as $80 a month after incentives. In most cases, these savings more than pay for the system each month!

In total, investing in our water-source geothermal heat pump can save most households more than $1,000 each year on heating and cooling costs and tens of thousands of dollars over the life of the system. Well-Connect starts paying for itself immediately, even if you choose to finance 100% of the system.

Is a Hybrid Geothermal System Affordable?

A Well-Connect hybrid geothermal system is less expensive than traditional geothermal systems. Unlike traditional geothermal, a Well-Connect is simply added to your home's existing system, allowing it to be installed in one day.

How Much Does Well-Connect Cost?

The cost of your Well-Connect system will depend on a variety of factors. In most cases, an installed system costs $12,000 - $15,000, substantially less than conventional geothermal systems which cost on average between $30,000 and $40,000. Homeowners who take advantage of tax credits and incentives may pay as little as $8,000 - $10,000. A DIY installation option and participation in our referral program reduce these out of pocket costs even further.

During an expected useful life of 25 years, a Well-Connect will reduce a typical rural home’s heating costs by $30,000 to $40,000 depending on the local price for electricity and heating fuels like propane and fuel oil. Said differently, heating with a Well-Connect Hybrid Geothermal System is the cost equivalent to paying about $1.00 per gallon of propane for the next two decades and that includes the cost of the installed Well-Connect system. Homes currently heated with fuel oil can realize a similar, cost equivalent reduction.

Are Geothermal Tax Credits Available for Well-Connect Systems?

Yes. The federal government offers a tax incentive for HVAC equipment that uses renewable energy, including geothermal heat pumps. This means you receive money back (or receive a credit against your tax bill) for investing in a Well-Connect for your home.

Current Incentives include:

  • 26% tax credit for systems placed in service before the end of 2022.

  • 23% tax credit for systems placed in service in 2023.

Are Rebates Available for the
Well-Connect System?

Yes. If you are a member of a rural electric cooperative, there are rebates available that range from $1,000 to over $2,000. In addition, many electric utilities have lower electric rates for geothermal heat pumps – this further reduces your heating and cooling costs.

Geothermal Financing Options

On top of the federal tax credit, geothermal financing options make investing in a Well-Connect simple. When factoring in incentives, monthly payments can be as low as $80. With an average monthly energy savings of $100 for most households, Well-Connect pays for itself while keeping money in your pocket. And when your Well-Connect is paid in full, enjoy decades of year-round home comfort while cutting your energy bill in half or more.

Homeowners may finance their new Well-Connect systems through a variety of providers for several different term rates. Speak with your local dealer to learn more about the financing options available to you.

Home Improvement Financing

Well-Connect may also be purchased with home improvement financing such as a personal loan, home equity line of credit, home equity loan or even mortgage refinancing. However, through rebates, tax credits and utility incentives, homeowners typically pay $8,000 - $10,000 out of pocket for Well-Connect if they choose not to finance it.
